Finding the Boat

Bellingham, Washington

In Bellingham, you can board the David B at our slip in Squalicum Harbor.

  • From Roeder Avenue, turn into Squalicum Harbor at the Coho Way Entrance.
  • At the second stop sign, turn left onto South Harbor Loop Drive. Go approximately 0.1 mile, past the public restrooms, and turn right into the parking area. Commercial fishermen often will have their nets stored here. (If you reach the Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Point Park before turning right, you’ve gone too far.)
  • Continue SW within the parking lot until you can see Bellingham Bay. There are some large green dumpsters that are very obvious on the right. Park anywhere in this area for free. This lot is monitored by security and cameras, but please stow any valuables out of sight since this is still a public area and open 24/7.
  • There is a ramp down to the docks near the dumpsters. Look for the small “Gate 5” sign on the pole to the left of the ramp. There are often blue dock carts available at the top of the ramp if you need one for your luggage. Walk down the ramp to the float docks, take a left at the bottom of the ramp and continue along that float until it bends to the right and you come to the David B slip on the right.
  • Give Christine a call at: 360-201-8184 if you get lost!

Ketchikan, AK

In Ketchikan we are almost always at a marina called Bar Harbor.

  • We will call or text you when we arrive and are assigned a slip, and we will leave a message for you with our slip assignment.
  • Christine’s cell is: 360-201-8184 just in case you need to contact her.
  • It’s about a mile from the downtown area to Bar Harbor so it’s a little long to walk with a lot of luggage so we usually recommend a taxi.
  • The pier leading out to the boats is between a set of apartments and the Bar Harbor Restaurant (2813 Tongass Avenue, Ketchikan, AK).
  • From the end of the pier where the taxi drops you off, you should be able to see the David B’s green and white pennant flying from our mast.
  • Head down the (often very steep) ramp to the boat.
