Can I Blow-Dry My Hair On Your Boat?

We get lots of questions from people who are looking at cruising with us, some people want to know what our itineraries are, some people what to know what we are likely to see. Others want to know what alternatives we can provide for special dietary needs, but the question we get the most is… “Can I blow-dry my hair?” and the answer is Yes! Besides blow-drying your hair, you can charge you iPod, iPad, laptop, phone and camera. We’ve even had people bring their machines for sleep apnea. To keep up with the growing number of electrical gadgets we all travel with, we are also installing more outlets in each of our cabins this winter.

Another amenity we have on the David B is a large shared head (marine bathroom) that’s separate from the private heads in each stateroom. What makes the shared head special is that it has a comfortable cast iron bathtub and fireplace. It’s a wonderfully warm spot for a relaxing bath with a glass of wine after a fabulous day of kayaking or beach combing.

Our staterooms all have very comfortable beds, soft sheets and cozy duvets. The Coho, Chinook, and Sockeye rooms all have spacious queen-sized beds, and the Keta, has two extra-long over-under bunks. This cabin is great for people who don’t wish to share a bed. Each stateroom has access to fresh air and daylight.

While the David B was built in 1929 and the electrical system back then was rather limited or maybe even non-existent, we have taken lots of time and care to install a system that is modern and meets the needs of our passengers. We hope that knowing  you can bring all of your electronic gadgets, you’ll take the time to visit our website and check out our adventures. We probably have one that’s just right for you.
